Step 6: Launch

Your new website goes live!

After you provide final approval of your staging site, we coordinate your website launch. This is where we do our final launch preparations and then push the staging site to your domain where it can be publicly accessed.

We handle the mechanics of the launch, but it’s important that your team lead and any IT representatives needed are available during the launch window. (We help you determine who is needed ahead of time based on your specific situation.) We work with you to choose the right launch time to ensure your team is available and there is minimal disruption.

Landslide Responsibilities

  • Perform final launch preparations.
  • Coordinate the launch process.
  • Review and resolve reported issues post-launch.

Client Responsibilities

  • Provide final approval to launch.
  • Coordinate access to domains, hosting, or third-party services as needed.
  • Report issues as needed.
  • Confirm contact forms are being received by intended recipients.

FAQs About Launch

  • Is there downtime during launch?

When a site launches, it can take time for updates to “propagate” across the internet. Propagation typically takes anywhere from a few hours to 24 hours, depending on DNS settings and how internet providers cache changes. In some cases, it can take up to 48 hours for everyone to see the new site consistently.

Because of this, we recommend waiting to make announcements or send communications until propagation has fully completed and the new site is consistently visible.

  • Can we choose the launch date?

Launch timing is coordinated with your team and ours, and confirmed in advance. We recommend selecting a day that typically sees lower traffic and isn’t right before a major event.
