Landslide Creative is pleased to announce that our website redesign for Historic Locust Grove received a 2024 Web Excellence Award for Museum Website Design!
Historic Locust Grove, a museum, historic site and event venue in Louisville, KY, is dedicated to preserving the landscape and buildings of Locust Grove while sharing the stories of both free and enslaved people who lived and worked there. We worked with the museum’s leadership and marketing team to design and develop a new website that provides greater flexibility to engage their community.
Inspired by the colors and textures of the local landscape and the historic home, the design reflects Locust Grove’s past, present and future. We restructured the navigation to better serve their diverse audiences — including visitors, donors, and volunteers of all ages and backgrounds — enabling more intuitive browsing. The page layouts highlight key ways to connect with the organization, like planning a visit or becoming a member.
About the Web Excellence Awards
The Web Excellence Awards honor professional excellence in website design. This award recognizes Locust Grove’s website for achievement in a variety of categories, including creativity, usability, content, visual design, technical quality, performance and overall user experience.
About Historic Locust Grove
Historic Locust Grove preserves and interprets the historic landscape and buildings of Locust Grove, the final home of Louisville’s founder, George Rogers Clark.
